Adrian Mangel was born and raised in Costa Rica but he lives in New York.

Adrian Mangel is a Costa Rican born, Brooklyn based illustrator and artist. His work often revolves around the ever-present conflict of high vs. low art, or commercial vs. conceptual, touching on issues of mass production and mass consumption. The juxtaposition of mass produced elements and artisanal products, in specific social environments, inspire Adrian’s process-driven work, where he is more concerned with the experimentation in materiality than the subjects his paintings capture.
